Clinical Services

As a Clinical Psychologist, Dr Ally can help those looking for psychological support for a variety of reasons. Dr Ally is located in a small and welcoming clinic in The Gap, Brisbane (Shop 3/23 Glen Affric Street) where both face-to-face and telehealth sessions can be provided. Dr Ally has interest and experience in supporting children, adolescents, families and young adults through a variety of life challenges, and encourages you to contact if you would like to know more about what she can offer specific to you. Utilising a collaborative, warm and non-judgemental approach to treatment, grounded in evidence-based training, Dr Ally hopes that she can combine her clinical knowledge and skillset, with your individual preferences for treatment, to help achieve any therapeutic goals you may have and improve your overall wellbeing. â€‹

Fees

The fee for an initial consultation with Dr Ally (Clinical Psychologist) of 90-minutes duration is $300. From thereafter, a standard 50-minute consultation with Dr Ally (Clinical Psychologist) is $240. Consultations can be face-to-face or via telehealth. Dr Ally does not bulk-bill and payment is required at the time of your appointment.

Due to the high demand for psychological services, Dr Ally asks that you kindly provide 48 hours' notice if you need to cancel or reschedule your appointment. If less than 48 hour's notice is provided, a 50% cancellation fee will be incurred ($120). If no notice is provided, and you do not attend your appointment, a full consultation fee ($240) will be invoiced.

Please note, Medicare or private health rebates cannot be claimed for cancellation or non-attendance fees.

Medicare & Private Health Rebates

Whilst not required for referral or consultation with Dr Ally, you can speak with your General Practitioner (GP) to see if you are eligible for a Mental Health Care Plan (MHCP) which will help to reduce your out-of-pocket costs. The current Medicare rebate for accessing a Clinical Psychologist is $145.25 per session for up to 10 sessions in a calendar year. This leaves a payable gap of $94.75 for a standard consultation with Dr Ally.

If you have private health insurance, you may be eligible to claim for your consultations with Dr Ally through your provider. Please check this with your private health insurance provider directly. Dr Ally is not able to access this information for you. Please note, you cannot claim both a Medicare rebate, and rebate through your private health provider, for the same appointment.

For how long, and how often, will I need to see Dr Ally?

The answer to this question varies depending on what you are struggling with and what therapeutic goals you may have. During your initial consultations with Dr Ally, you will work together with Dr Ally to decide on a treatment plan that is right for you. Dr Ally knows that life, and our goals, can change over the course of treatment, so this plan can be reviewed and updated at any time. While Medicare rebated sessions are limited for up to 10 sessions in a calendar year, this does not limit you to only 10 sessions should you want, or need, longer-term support. Please speak with your GP about the MHCP if you have further questions about your eligibility.
